Learning to Manage People at Stanbic IBTC

The Second in our Leadership Development Series for Stanbic IBTC focused on People Management, specifically targeted at Line managers who needed to grow their competencies in three areas - Performance Appraisals, Giving Effective Feedback and Building a Learning Organization. As usual, participants got the best of cutting edge next practice including the seminal work done by learning impact CEO and founder - Gbitse Barrow on ADKAR and Training, and expanded their thinking about the role of leaders like themselves in getting people and their organization to learn and grow.

Participants were also engaged by leading Realtionship Coach - Mrs Bridget Itsueli, who led a half-day session on Striking the Work-Life balance. Participants also practised some very important new approaches to handling performance appraisals - the Mixed Method; as well the ever powerful Situation - Behaviour - Impact approach for giving feedback to their colleagues back at work. The session ended with participatnts huddling within their various workstreams to come up with a distinct People Project that will ensure they transferred their new learnings into action in their work and personal lives. The class seemed to have caught a lot of fun, and enjoyed sharing very profound personal stories related to their leadership journeys with each other.
